Have you ever sat down to write something and had NO idea where to start? Like not a clue? It literally happens to me ALL the time, which is surprising because I always have A LOT to say. Well, friends that is exactly how I am feeling right now. When in doubt start in the beginning… right?. I first met Jen last October when she contacted me about photography for her upcoming wedding. I instantly liked her… she was smart, stunningly beautiful, smiley, sweet, sincere (should I continue on with the S words?) and she was super excited about me being her wedding photographer (SCORE!). At some point in our conversation, Jen shared her love of photography with me and desire to grow her photography business (double score!). Being the inquisitive person I am, I went straight to her FB page. Whoa! It was clear to me that she was on the fast track to photography rock-stardom.
Do you ever have secret motives? Good motives, of course. I had a motive. Last weekend was Jen + John’s fabulous wedding (can’t wait to share that) and I was pumped. I pumped for a lot reasons: I was excited for Jen + John (they’re fabulous together), it was a beautiful event, AND it signaled the beginning of the end of our client-photographer relationship and the beginning of our hopeful collaboration. I am always looking for great seconds shooters and assistants… motive revealed… I wanted to work with Jen. Yes, I said wanted. Jen + John are off on a new adventure in Maryland. I’m a little sad, but mostly I’m so excited for them to start their new lives together and to watch Jennifer Lynn Photography rock the socks off Maryland.
J… I am so grateful for the opportunity to have met you and gotten to know you. We’ll be in touch sister!
I love me a Nikon girl!
Above is Jen looking fab and taking notes on all the things she’s not going to do. I was working my classic commando crawl across the grass with full commentary. Below… she just can’t take it anymore. I’m sure she was thinking, “Make it, STOP!”
Jen, I can’t wait to see how you rock the industry. Thanks SO much for taking a turn on the other side of the camera and allowing me to capture it.
