Lauren initially reached out to me about about capturing their elopement at Hurricane Ridge but as it sometimes happens our schedules didn’t align and I wouldn’t be able to make to the ridge in time for their nuptials. During our conversation Lauren shared with me about her desire to have a PNW adventure wedding and that they would be doing a ceremony with family and friends later that fall. She already had my undivided attention, but then she really peaked my interest when she mentioned that after their elopement they’d be heading Bainbridge Island to spend the evening on a sailboat. Did she just say evening and sailboat??? I was in! I would connect with on Bainbridge Island to capture their post elopement glow.
I meet Lauren, Joe and Captain Ben on a red sailboat named True (check out this awesome Airbnb), we boarded the vessel and headed out for an stunning sunset sail. Lauren and Joe were truly glowing and radiating joy, it was such a delight to witness. I found myself smiling ear to ear just being around the two of them. I couldn’t draw up a more perfect day in the Puget Sound than the one were blessed with … warm sun, blue sky, calm waters, ferry boats and Mount Rainier it was spectacular. The kind of day us Pacific Northwestern’s like to keep to ourselves 😉
As the sunset and we drifted into the harbor, I couldn’t help but reflect on how incredible this life is and grateful I’m for the many wonderful things I get to experience with people like Lauren and Joe. I take a little something from every shared experience and session, I definitely walked away from my time with these two lighter and encouraged to spread kindness where ever I go.
